Immigration 101 for Non-Immigration Practitioners

Please join KCBA Pro Bono Services and the Latino/a Bar Association of WA for a training on the basics of immigration law for non-immigration practitioners. Many clients of Pro-Bono Services are part of the vibrant immigrant community in WA State. This training aims to help you become better equipped to make knowledgeable referrals and understand our clients’ general legal interactions more fully when seen in the context of their immigration status.
Topics to be covered in brief include:
- Introduction to Immigration Law, Removal Proceedings
- Family Based Petitions
- U-Visas
- T-Visas
- Asylum
- Working with Youth and Unaccompanied Minors
- Updates in Immigration

Registration is Required – In-person space is limited so be sure to register as soon as possible. You can also attend via video streaming. There is no cost associated with this CLE. It is directed towards interested volunteer Attorneys and Clinic Assistants through the King County Bar Association, members of the Latino/a Bar Association of WA, and member of other Pro Bono programs across Washington State.
