2017 Goldmark Award Luncheon
February 17, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
FreeEach year, the Legal Foundation of Washington Board of Trustees presents the Charles A. Goldmark Distinguished Service Award to an outstanding individual or organization that has assisted in providing deep and meaningful access to the justice system.
The Goldmark Award commemorates the extraordinary contributions of former LFW Board president, Charles A. Goldmark, who played a singularly important role in the creation of the IOLTA program, designed to complement state and federal funds that enable low-income people in Washington state access the civil justice system. The legal aid network Charles Goldmark helped to shape continues to improve the lives of thousands of low-income children and families in Washington state every day.
The Goldmark Award Luncheon is traditionally attended by over 600 attorneys, judges, and community leaders. Since its inaugural event in 1987 following Charles Goldmark’s tragic death, the Goldmark Award has recognized over 39 individuals and groups who have spent much of their lives and careers in service to equal justice for all. See list of past recipients. Read highlights from the 2016 Goldmark Award Luncheon.
Entrance to the Goldmark Award Luncheon is complimentary, however there is a suggested minimum contribution of $250 per person. The generosity of sponsors makes it possible for all contributions raised at the Luncheon to go directly to the Campaign for Equal Justice or the Endowment for Equal Justice, funding 23 nonprofit providers of legal aid statewide.
